They do best in a medium that has good drainage and dry between watering. Give them a short dryer rest after blooming.

Cattleya schroderae grows in Colombia and is warm to hot growing. It is fragrant and needs bright light.

This plant is in sphagnum over peanuts in a 4 1/2-inch clay pot. There are two pseudobulbs and it stands six inches above the pot.
