They do best in a medium that has good drainage and dry between watering. Give them a short dryer rest after blooming.

Cattleya walkeriana grows in Brazil on trees and moist rocks at elevations up to 6000'. It is fragrant, needs bright light and blooms in the fall. It doesn't like to be disturbed.

This plant is bare root in a 5-inch teak basket. There are 3 pseudobulbs and a new growth and it stands 7 inches above the basket.
