They do best in a medium that has good drainage and dry between watering. Give them a short dryer rest after blooming.

Cattleya lueddemanniana grows on the northern coast of Venezuela. It is fragrant, warm to hot growing and needs bright light. It blooms in summer or fall.

This plant is potted in sphagnum over peanuts in a 3 1/2-inch clay pot. There are five pseudobulbs and the plant stands 8 inches above the pot.
