They do best in a medium that has good drainage and dry between watering. Give them a short dryer rest after blooming.

Cattleya luteola grows in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, in lowland tropical rain forests. It needs a dry winter rest.

This plant is mounted on a 4x5 1/2-inch piece of cork bark and there are ten pseudobulbs.
