Mexipedium xerophyticum grows in Mexico in limestone with cactus and other arid growing plants. It is hot to warm growing and needs a 3-month dry winter rest. The genus Mexipedium is a genus with a single species removed from Cypripedium because of the fleshy, thick, stiff, leathery leaves and the very small flowers.
